iPhone SE 4: Major Upgrades and Features Revealed
According to a report from a Korean supplier, Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 4 will get significant upgrades, including a 48MP single rear camera and a 12MP TrueDepth front camera.
Camera Upgrades
- The iPhone SE 4 features a 48MP rear camera, which is similar to the main sensor on the iPhone 16. It includes support for Apple’s “Fusion” lens technology, which is capable of capturing high-resolution images and standard 2x zoom-in
- It has a 12MP front camera with advanced selfie and FaceTime.
- Unlike the iPhone 16, the SE 4 will not include an ultrawide lens, which focuses on a single rear sensor.
- LG Innotech will mainly provide camera modules, with contributions from Foxconn and Cowell Electronics.
Design and Display
- The SE 4 will adopt an all-display design similar to the iPhone 14, which will do away with Touch ID in favor of Face ID.
- It will have a 6.06-inch OLED display, which is a notable improvement over the older LCD technology.
- The device also has a USB-C port, which would be compatible with a long-range transition from Apple’s Lightning connector.

Performance Enhancements
- 8 GB of RAM will enhance the performance of the device and support advanced Apple Intelligence features.
- The Multi-purpose Action button can replace a traditional mute switch, providing customizable functionality.
5G Modem
- A key feature is the inclusion of an Apple-designed 5G modem, which will be the first time an Apple device will use an internal chip for 5G connectivity. This is a move away from trust in third-party suppliers.
Launch and Pricing
- The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025.
- With an estimated price tag of $400, it is designed to offer luxury at an affordable price.
The iPhone SE 4 promises to bridge the gap between affordability and state-of-the-art technology, appealing to budget-conscious consumers who prefer high-end Apple products.
